The 27th Special Operations Wing has organized a ruck march in celebration of Air Force Special Operations Command’s 10 year Anniversary at Cannon Air Force Base. This is a great opportunity to come together as a Wing and celebrate our shared heritage as Air Commandos, and the premier installation where we serve.
All ruck weight will be participant provided canned food items that will be donated to our local food bank at the conclusion of the event.

When: Saturday, 20 May @ 0630
Where: All participants will meet at Unity Park in order to be shuttled to the starting location, the Clovis Municipal Courthouse
Distance: 10 miles, or 10 kilometers. Competitors must ruck the full 10 miles in uniform. The 10k course has no uniform requirement. The course will start at the courthouse, and the 10k route ends at Unity Park on base.
Categories of ruck: Participants are encouraged to use personal preference when it comes to choosing weight, but in order to qualify for a trophy, the participant must have at least 10% of his or her body weight in canned food items inside of the ruck. Canned food will be donated at the end of the ruck.
Individual competition rules: The first three people to cross the 10 mile finish line, in uniform, while carrying no less than 10% of their body weight will be awarded with a trophy.
Squadron competition rules: A team will consist of 10 individuals from the same unit, who must complete the full 10 miles as a team, in uniform, with every individual carrying at least 10% of their own body weight in their ruck. Team will not be placed until every member crosses the finish line. Awards will be presented to the fastest 3 teams.
